What is Henna?

Henna (also known as Mehndi) is a dye prepared from the dried leaves of the Henna tree. It often comes in a powder and is mixed with liquid (water, lemon juice or oil) and is piped onto the skin in intricate designs. After the henna has been applied, the longer the henna is left to dry, the darker it will appear. It can last up to two weeks.
