Feeling a bit off and not sure where to start? 🔮 Answer seven quick questions and the calculator shows which chakra wants tending right now, which one is your steadiest, and the stone and two-minute practice for each. No email, no sign-up, just an answer.
For each line, choose how true it feels this week.
-

-
I second-guess myself and put off decisions.
-
I find it hard to let people in, or to be kind to myself.

I swallow what I really want to say.
-
I ignore my gut feeling and overthink instead.

I feel cut off from anything bigger than my to-do list.
Answer every line first. You have answered 0 of 7.
How the calculator works
Each line belongs to one of the seven chakras of the yogic tradition from India, from the root at the base of the spine to the crown at the top of the head. Your answer scores 0 to 3. The centre with the highest score is the one to tend this week. If two tie, the lower centre wins, because chakra practice builds from the ground up. The centre with the lowest score is your steadiest, sometimes called your dominant chakra. ✨
It is a mirror, not a verdict. Moods shift, so come back in a week and see what has moved.
The seven chakras and their stones
Here is the map the calculator uses, so you can read it without pressing a button. The first-choice stones follow our guide to the best crystal for each chakra. The trick is simple: match the stone to the chakra's colour. The heart takes pink as well as green, and the crown takes clear quartz.
| Chakra | Colour | Where it sits | A sign it wants tending | First-choice stone |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Root | Red | Base of the spine | Feeling unsafe or unsettled | Red jasper |
| Sacral | Orange | Just below the navel | Feeling flat or uncreative | Carnelian |
| Solar plexus | Yellow | Above the navel | Second-guessing yourself | Citrine |
| Heart | Green and pink | Centre of the chest | Keeping people at arm's length | Rose quartz |
| Throat | Blue | Base of the throat | Biting your tongue | Lapis lazuli |
| Third eye | Indigo | Between the eyebrows | Overthinking, ignoring your gut | Amethyst |
| Crown | Violet or white | Top of the head | Feeling cut off from meaning | Clear quartz |
A few honest notes from the mineral side. Most citrine sold today is heat-treated amethyst, still real quartz and still sunny. Lapis is softer than quartz, so wipe it with a dry cloth rather than soaking it. And amethyst can slowly fade in strong sun, so keep it off a bright windowsill. 🌙
What to do with your result
Choose the stone for the chakra that wants tending and put it where that chakra sits: red jasper in a trouser pocket, rose quartz on the breastbone while you rest, amethyst on the brow. Two minutes is plenty. Hold it, breathe slowly, and give the centre one plain sentence, such as "I am safe here" for the root or "I can say it kindly" for the throat. 🕯️
If you would like to lay several stones at once, our chakra layout guide walks you through a simple pattern, and our chakra oils guide pairs each centre with a scent. For the root in particular, four ways to open your root chakra is a short, practical read.
FAQs
What is a dominant chakra?
In chakra practice your dominant chakra is the centre that feels most natural and steady for you, the one you lean on. The calculator shows it as the line you scored lowest. It is often the heart or the throat, but any centre can be dominant, and it can change with the season of life you are in.
How accurate is this chakra calculator?
It is a quick, honest read of how you feel this week, scored the way chakra tradition maps feelings to centres. Seven questions cannot see everything, so treat the result as a starting point. If the answer surprises you, sit with it for a day; people often find it names the thing they had been stepping around.
Can I retake the quiz?
Yes, as often as you like. Press "Start over" under your result and answer again. A weekly check-in is a lovely habit, and watching the result move is part of the point.
Do I need all seven stones?
No. Start with the one stone for the chakra that wants tending. A single stone you actually use beats a full set in a drawer. If you love the idea of the whole rainbow, a seven-stone piece such as a chakra bracelet or necklace keeps them together and wearable.
